Dear friends,

If we have learned anything from the COVID-19 crisis, it’s that our ability to thrive during a shelter-in-place mandate is directly tied to the safety and stability of our housing. Problems such as leaky roofs, mold, insufficient insulation, and exorbitant rent payments threaten the health, safety, and financial security of Michigan families and cause further concern beyond the risk of contracting COVID-19.

Habitat for Humanity affiliates have been building homes, communities, and hope in Michigan for over 30 years and expect an unprecedented need for safe, affordable housing in the coming days. The Power of Home – Michigan campaign is our opportunity to raise funds statewide to better equip affiliates to stabilize housing in their communities. Our friends at Consumers Energy are offering all of the Michigan affiliates $100,000 in match funds – every $2 raised in the campaign receives an additional $1 of match money! We need YOUR HELP to meet our goal of $100,000 and receive these match funds.

Wexford Osceola Habitat for Humanity (WOHFH) specifically needs these funds to help build our 2020 partner family home for Lisa Inscho and her 3 children. The Inschos have worked hard to become a Habitat partner family by attending credit counseling and home ownership classes. WOHFH has a fundraising goal of $10,000 and this will help us to be able to move forward with this home build. We thank you for your support to help in any way possible. We would love to partner with you or your business to help us crush this goal. Please contact Amy Gibbs at 231-775-7561 or director@wexfordhabitat.org if you are interested in partnering with us on this campaign. I can help you set up your own fundraising TEAM PAGE .

In 2019, our affiliate was able to build a home for a veteran and his four children and did repairs to 5 homes through our A Brush with Kindness program. Please partner with us so we are able to continue to work towards a future where every Michigan family experiences firsthand the POWER of a healthy, safe, and affordable home.
