Update from Amy Gibbs, Executive Director...

As we move through a busy and exciting spring season at Cadillac Area Habitat for Humanity, I continue to be amazed by the support of our volunteers, donors, partners, and community members who make this work possible.

This month has already been filled with meaningful milestones, including one groundbreaking ceremony and three home blessings for local families are scheduled. Each event is a reminder that together we are building more than homes, we are building stability, hope, and stronger communities throughout our area.

Looking ahead, we are excited to invite the community to an upcoming Habitat Home Open House on June 30. This event will give community members the opportunity to walk through a completed Habitat home and see firsthand the quality, care, and impact of affordable homeownership. The home will be beautifully staged with items from our ReStore by Joni Holly, showcasing how affordable and welcoming a Habitat home can truly be.

As we prepare for our next fiscal year beginning July 1, strategic planning for our Board of Directors is also right around the corner. This important process will help guide our goals, priorities, and growth opportunities as we continue expanding our impact throughout the communities we serve.

We encourage everyone to check out our Facebook page for additional details on upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to get involved with our mission.

Thank you for continuing to support the work of Habitat. Together, we are building homes, communities, and hope.

With gratitude,

Amy Gibbs

This month, we are proud to shine the spotlight on Jason Towers for his outstanding leadership and commitment to our mission.

Jason unselfishly stepped into the role of Board President during a pivotal time for our organization, bringing steady leadership, thoughtful guidance, and a deep passion for serving our community. His willingness to lead and support Cadillac Area Habitat for Humanity has helped continue the momentum of providing safe, affordable homeownership opportunities for local families.

Jason leads with humility, integrity, and a genuine heart for others. Whether helping navigate organizational growth, supporting strategic planning efforts, or championing the vision of affordable housing, he consistently keeps families and community impact at the center of every decision.

His dedication reminds us that strong communities are built by people willing to step forward and serve. We are grateful for Jason’s leadership and the countless ways he supports the mission of creating strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Thank you, Jason, for leading the charge and helping make the dream of homeownership possible for families in our community.

Did you know that a land donation can help build brighter futures for local families?

At Cadillac Area Habitat for Humanity, land donations play a vital role in making homeownership possible. Your unused property could become the site of a safe and affordable home, offering a fresh start for a family in need.

Plus, land donations may offer valuable tax benefits for you or your estate.

Leave a lasting legacy in our community. To learn more about how you can turn land into hope, visit our website or contact us directly.

We are specifically in need of land in the Osceola and Missaukee Counties.

Together, we’re building more than homes; we’re building futures.

Update from Evan Stieg, Construction Manager...

Mark Lane Builds:
Both homes are nearing completion, with only final trim and door painting remaining. Still to be completed are installation of doorknobs, door stops, and bathroom hardware, along with nail hole repairs, caulking, and drywall touch-ups.

All inspections have been successfully completed for both homes, and Certificates of Occupancy were received last week.

Concrete driveways are scheduled for next week. Seamless gutters and hydroseeding are also being scheduled, and sheds are either being delivered or built soon.

Mark Lane – New Build:
We are currently receiving bids from subcontractors. Zoning approval and the building permit have both been granted. Trees and brush were cleared today, and we are getting really close to beginning construction.

Walnut Remodel:
Drywall is complete and ready for painting. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets were installed last Friday.

Update from Jada Holly, Administrative Assistant/Volunteer/Priority Coordinator...

Over the past few months, I have continued to work closely to support our Executive Director, Construction Manager, and Restore Manager with their day-to-day operations and ongoing projects. This includes assisting with administrative tasks, coordinating communication, helping keep projects organized and on schedule, and supporting the overall efficiency of our team. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute behind the scenes to help our mission continue moving forward.

Volunteer Coordinating

As Volunteer Coordinator, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy to helping us over the past month. Your hard work and continued support are truly appreciated and make a meaningful impact on our mission and the families we serve.

We have many exciting projects coming up this year, including new home builds and the completion of our current builds. Current volunteers are encouraged to watch their email for upcoming volunteer opportunities and project updates.

If you are not currently signed up to volunteer but would like to get involved, please visit our website to complete a volunteer application.

Priority Home Repair

I have been working hard to help move our current home repair projects toward completion while also assisting new applicants through the application and approval process. We are grateful for the continued interest and support from our community.

At this time, we are no longer accepting applications for non-veteran households as we work through current projects and funding availability. We are actively seeking additional funding opportunities and encourage community members to follow our social media pages and website for updates regarding when applications will reopen.
